At the 6th Real Estate Unite conference hosted by 3Invest on the 23rd & 24th of October 2017, M-P Infrastructure hosted a workshop on Smart Environments in Residential and Office Real Estate.
MPI’s participation was to showcase the potential values that can be achieved by incorporating technology infrastructure into building plans for residential and commercial properties to cater to utilities, security and emergency services in smart estates, as we work towards building smart cities in Nigeria.
On the panel sat MPI partners and technology experts including Adewale Sulaiman of MTN Nigeria, Glen Scott of digital operations management company MI-C3, Willem Wentzel of international ICT firm NEC and George Psoulis of access control and perimeter protection company Gallagher Security.
Technology is now an essential to human lives, and factoring it into the development of our environments can provide solutions relating to home security, water management, renewable energies, intelligent traffic control, wireless internet accessibility, waste management, amongst others. Speaking on the incorporation of solar energy into building plans, Willem Wentzel of NEC said:
“To use renewables in the development of estates, we need to look from the beginning of the planning.”
The event was attended by local and international Africa-focused real estate developers, infrastructure developers, and financial investors to overwhelmingly positive reviews. Attendees’ interests were piqued by the potential of smart energy solutions for residential houses and the prospect of seeing functional deployed systems in action.
